Josh joined our team in 2022 after retiring from the Vincennes Police Department. Josh retired with the rank of Major. During his 25-year career as a police officer, he accomplished many things.

Even before Josh became a police officer he had a strong interest in dog training and has been training dogs for all types of work including basic-advanced obedience, competitive dog sport training, hunting dogs, search and rescue dogs and behavioral problems. Josh has worked with hundreds of dogs of all breeds over the last 30 years. He has experience in training a variety of disciplines using a variety of methods which of course include Classical and Operant Conditioning, Clicker and Marker training. Josh is also highly skilled with E-Collar training and added the Sport Nose-Work Classes to the Landheim lineup. His experience includes teaching all group classes, protection dogs for sport work in IPO (Schutzhund) and police K9 work. Josh also conducts private lessons for behavioral issues and specialty training. Josh also serves as a “Master Trainer” for the American Police Canine Association with duties that include training and educating K9 teams at National Seminars and Workshops. He is also responsible for testing K9 teams for APCA National Certification. We are very excited to have Josh on our staff and expect great things from his expertise and input in our programs.
