Puppy Star

AGE RANGE: 8-26 Weeks

How to start strong

for the little ones!

Don’t miss this critical time window to train and socialize your puppy while having FUN!

Our AKC puppy STAR training is open to all breeds including mix breeds from 8 – 26 weeks of age. The AKC S.T.A.R. puppy program teaches dogs and their owners the first important steps to becoming responsible members of the community. “We are proud to see dog owners actively seeking ways to help their puppies start life on the right path.”  Early training and socialization are key to having a well-behaved dog.

This program introduces owners to understanding the responsibilities of puppy ownership, potty training, and grooming essentials, as well as address negative behaviors that may arise. We begin laying a foundation of obedience using motivational training techniques and introduce the Puppy STAR concepts laid out by the AKC, giving puppies and owners a chance to achieve the S.T.A.R. Award through the AKC at the conclusion of class. Dogs do not have to be AKC registered to earn this award.

To achieve the Puppy STAR Award owners and puppies must meet all the parameters set by the AKC, but achieving this award is NOT a precursor for any further training at Landheim. The S.T.A.R. Award is designed to help owners work with their puppies from a young age, identifying areas of improvement for more advanced training in the future.
